Medical Marijuana Rules To Be Rewritten By Panel Set Up By State Health Officials

A committee of stakeholders — a patient, a grower, a doctor and others — will sit down next month to negotiate rules for Florida’s stalled medical-marijuana law. Set to meet Feb. 4 and 5, the panel would negotiate how Florida would select plant nurseries to be licensed to grow, process and sell medical-marijuana products, where those activities could be conducted and how the state would regulate the people and businesses involved. This is the reason why there has been a delay in approving the said rules.

The delay in the rules has brought criticism from the families of patients, many of them young children, who believe that the oil, commonly known by the name “Charlotte’s Web,” could help them.
