Kate and her apprentice, Sister Darcey, are not official Catholic nuns or religiously affiliated, but they dress like nuns and call themselves the “Sisters of the Valley.” “It’s part of my life design to help people,” Darceysaid. “And I have to feel important, and this really does.” The nuns saidthat the medical marijuana they grow does not have THC, the ingredient that causes people to get high. The nuns distribute their CBD products around the country via Etsy, a website where people sell handmade products. However, the Merced City Council is considering a ban on all marijuana next week, including medicinaluse, even though the city’s planning commission recently voted to allow the selling ofmedical marijuana to continue, notes ABC 30. On the opposingside, some folks in Merced are worried because more lenient California regulations are set to go into effect across the state in March.
